The Rosetta Bar

Supporting HEXXED

First gig! Though we only found out about this 8 days beforehand, we went down surprisingly well for first giggers. We practiced like hell, and thanx to Ciaran from Hexxed, we got a very complex 'missing drummer' situation sorted out, so everything turned out alright on the night. Despite the relatively small turnout, we rocked like hell nonetheless. Kicking off with Puppethead, we pounded through 5 songs (Paralyse, Skarekrow, White Zombie's Electric Head, and Tonight with the big riff from Pantera's Domination stuck on the end being the others). A few minor problems aside (such as not being able to hear ourselves at times and the fact that I broke the mike at the end after going particularly apeshit) the lot of us thought it went well, considering we'd never played before.

Hexxed came on shortly after and played a blinding set consisting of tracks from their 'Perish the Sacred' demo. They rocked like big rockin' monsters, and we would like to thank them immensely for giving us the opportunity to get our first gig over in such a cool way with such a respected local band. We look forward to playing with Hexxed again in the not so distant future. If they don't mind, that is!

After both sets were over, Owen, Gerard 1 and Gerard 2 decided a little bit of history should be made, with the first ever crossover project between Hexxed and Headcheese. As 'Hexxedcheese', me (that's Gerard 3 - god it's like bloody Slipknot with all these numbers!) and Hexxed - minus Ciaran who had to leave early due to gig fatigue (rightfully so, they did play at KD's earlier that day!) - pelted through 'Slave New World' and 'Refuse/Resist' by Sepultura, and then Hexxed and Dave Dehumanizer joined them for 'South of Heaven' by Slayer. Which was well nice.
