Katy Daly's RocKD

With Spindrift

It was crunch time for new drummer boy, Alex, after just a week with the band, and didn't he do well? He did indeed. We turned up at Katy's and set up as usual, quite chuffed as Marty thought we were headlining, and the Spindrift lads were actually going to be supporting us! But as it turned out, they headlined instead, and well, that was fair enough. It wouldn't have been right to have them below us and use their gear like a bunch of tramps! The main thing that did annoy us was the fact that the bouncers were being real assholes (hey, it's in their genes), and that created a real bad vibe.

Anyway, we got ready to go in front of a whole load of people, soundchecking with Electric Head (it's been demoted!), and then, off we went. As usual, we started with 'Puppethead', but this time we played the theme tune from Zombie Flesh Eaters as a wee intro. Then, we pounded through 'Break' (the revamped version of 'Paralyse'), 'Augusta', Limp Bizkit's 'Break Stuff', 'Neurocide' and 'Tonite', with as is traditional, a Pantera riff whacked onto the end, this time the riff from 'This Love'. It went as well as could be expected, despite me still being pissed off at the bouncers. The new songs, 'Augusta' and 'Neurocide' went off pretty well also, considering they are only a week old! The whole thing was video taped too, so if you're interested in seeing it, give us a shout. Expect photos some time within this week

Spindrift were on ripping form, despite Micky and Anthony having Tequila-induced hangovers (what the hell possessed yez lads?). They too had two new songs, 'Red Eye Blind' and 'Scratch', which are both killer tunes. I'm busting to hear their new demo!

A big THANXXX to everyone who turned up, and a big FUCK YOU to the asshole bouncers for being a pair of stuck-up bitches. We'll be seeing our good friends Beavis and Butthead next time we play there, on the 20th. There are just some people who feel bad when they see someone else having a good time. I think it's something to do with the lack of brain cells and those extra chromosomes, but let's say no more about it.

KEEP IT LIT!
